Which institutions accept it?

The GED is a widely accepted diploma by universities in the USA (97% according to ged.com). This means that it is an excellent choice if you want to study in the USA. EPIC recommends that before taking the GED, you check the acceptance policy of the institution to which you want to apply.

How can I prepare for the GED?

The GED has 4 exams from total different subjects. It is very common for students to feel very overwhelmed with the amount of content they will be facing in order to prepare for the GED. That is why we recommend that you put yourself in the hands of companies that specialize in GED prep. At EPIC we have been teaching GED classes since 2010. Where can I find GED practice tests?

In our courses we put a lot of emphasis on practice so that the candidate knows how to solve what he/she will encounter on test day. Our content incorporates many exercises and mock exams. However, if you are unable to attend our courses, we recommend that you use the practice tests posted on the official GED website. When can I take the test?

The GED is a test that, if you live outside the USA, is taken online at authorized centers. Since it is an online test you have multiple options for when to take the test. What is the test like?

The GED consists of four tests: Mathematics, Reasoning through language arts, Social studies, Science. All tests include multiple-choice questions, and Language Arts includes a developmental portion. Each exam has a different structure regarding the number of questions and the time available to solve them:

Mathematics: 112 minutes total and structured in 2 parts.
Language Arts: 150 minutes total and structured in 3 parts.
Social Studies: 70 minutes and structured all in one part.
Science: 90 minutes and structured in one part.

Where can I take the GED?

The GED can be taken at any of the authorized centers. If you are in Spain you have 3 authorized centers to take the test (Centers may be subject to change from when this page was written). Only for those students who are in the USAthere is also the possibility to take the GED test online outside the authorized centers. Here on the link you will find more info to answer this question.

What GED score do I need to pass?

The different tests that make up the GED are passed with a score of 145 points. However, if your goal is to enter college in the U.S., we recommend that you do not set a goal of 145 points. At EPIC, we always prepare our students to score above 165 points, which is the GED College Ready score. What are the GED requirements?

To take the GED test you must:

Be 18 years old. If you are at least 16 years old you can take the GED test, but your parents or legal guardian must fill out a form and send it to help@ged.com. For more details click on the link and follow the required steps.
You do not need to be a resident of the country in which you choose to enroll to take the GED.
You do not need to take the GED Ready practice test to take the GED.
