Everything you should know about the GED
The GED is an alternative diploma to a High School degree. In Spain it is quite unknown so it is quite normal that you have many questions about it. On this page, you will find the answers to the main questions that our GED students have been asking us since 2010:
Which institutions accept it?
The GED is a widely accepted diploma by universities in the USA (97% according to ged.com). This means that it is an excellent choice if you want to study in the USA.
EPIC recommends that before taking the GED, you check the acceptance policy of the institution to which you want to apply.
How can I prepare for the GED?
The GED has 4 exams from total different subjects. It is very common for students to feel very overwhelmed with the amount of content they will be facing in order to prepare for the GED.

Where can I find GED practice tests?
However, if you are unable to attend our courses, we recommend that you use the practice tests posted on the official GED website.

When can I take the test?
The GED is a test that, if you live outside the USA, is taken online at authorized centers. Since it is an online test you have multiple options for when to take the test. If you want to learn more about we have prepared this article for you.
We recommend that you register on the official website and you will see the availability of dates at the center you are interested in.

How Much Is the Exam?
The GED has a cost of 80$ per exam. Price does not include any aditional charges your examination center may apply. Therefore the total minimum cost to complete the GED Diploma is 320$.
Can the GED be taken in Spanish?
There is a Spanish version of the GED. However, you can only take the GED in Spanish from the USA. En España el GED se hace íntegramente en inglés.

What is the test like?
The GED consists of four tests: Mathematics, Reasoning through language arts, Social studies, Science. All tests include multiple-choice questions, and Language Arts includes a developmental portion. Each exam has a different structure regarding the number of questions and the time available to solve them:
- Mathematics: 112 minutes total and structured in 2 parts.
- Language Arts: 150 minutes total and structured in 3 parts.
- Social Studies: 70 minutes and structured all in one part.
- Science: 90 minutes and structured in one part.
Where can I take the GED?
The GED can be taken at any of the authorized centers. If you are in Spain you have 3 authorized centers to take the test (Centers may be subject to change from when this page was written).
Only for those students who are in the USAthere is also the possibility to take the GED test online outside the authorized centers.

What GED score do I need to pass?
The different tests that make up the GED are passed with a score of 145 points. However, if your goal is to enter college in the U.S., we recommend that you do not set a goal of 145 points.

What are the GED requirements?
- Be 18 years old. If you are at least 16 years old you can take the GED test, but your parents or legal guardian must fill out a form and send it to help@ged.com. For more details click on the linkand follow the required steps.
- You do not need to be a resident of the country in which you choose to enroll to take the GED.
- You do not need to take the GED Ready practice test to take the GED.
