ESADE asks Full-Time MBA applicants for a GMAT Focus Edition or GRE score. You can also submit your application without the final result: just indicate the date you'll take the exam.
IESE requires a GMAT or GRE score from all MBA candidates, and its main campus is in Barcelona. It sets no minimum score and treats it as one criterion among others, alongside video essays, academic record and letters of recommendation.
Does a GMAT Score Work for Schools Outside Barcelona?
Yes, it's the same score and it reaches INSEAD, HEC Paris, London Business School, LSE, Bocconi and the University of St. Gallen. Which schools outside of Barcelona accept the GMAT, and what scores do they require?
The same GMAT score is accepted by INSEAD, HEC Paris, London Business School, LSE, Bocconi, the University of St. Gallen, and many others in Europe. In the Focus Edition, INSEAD and HEC Paris consider a score between 645 and 695 to be competitive, London Business School requires 655 or higher, and LSE requires 680 or higher. None of these schools publish an official minimum score; the score is evaluated in conjunction with the rest of your application.
What GMAT score do I need for ESADE and IESE?
ESADE reports an average class score of about 615 on the GMAT Focus Edition (about 660 on the classic version) and does not publish a minimum score. For IESE, a highly competitive candidate should aim for 650 or higher on the Focus Edition, although it does not set a minimum either. At both schools, the score is evaluated in conjunction with professional experience, essays, and the interview.
How long do I need to prepare for the GMAT in Barcelona?
For students in Barcelona without a pressing deadline, we recommend between 10 and 15 weeks of preparation. If your exam date is approaching quickly, our intensive 5- to 7-week courses are designed to help you get ready in time. Advanced students in Barcelona often require just 3 to 5 weeks of targeted study to reach their goals. Our small group program in Barcelona consists of 7 weeks of intensive study, followed by 3 or 4 weeks of personalized reinforcement.
