Do I register for one exam or all four?

At EPIC we have helped hundreds of students obtain their GED diploma. Since 2010, almost all of our students have asked us the same question: Do I register for all four exams on the same day or one exam per day? This question is important to ask yourself at the beginning of your preparation. It is not the same to prepare a subject, take the exam and not advance to the next one until you pass it, than to prepare all the content of the GED (the 4 tests) simultaneously. We at EPIC always recommend preparing for a subject, taking the exam and not advancing until you pass. However, this, which is optimal, may have an exception for those students who do not have a test center in their city. In cases where you have to travel far away to take the exam, you will have to consider the possibility of preparing 2 or up to 4 subjects simultaneously.

How do I register for one or more exams?

Once you have decided whether to take a single exam or multiple exams, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Register as a student on the GED website. To do so, simply visit ged.com (you can select your language at the top) and click on the register button at the top right of the screen. In case you have already registered before, you will simply log in to the DGE website.
  2. Once you are in your session in the menu of the URL you are directed to click on a blue button that says schedule test.
  3. You will be taken to a page that allows you to select one or multiple exams (up to 4). On this page you will find the duration of each exam, as well as the price.
  4. Once you have selected the exam(s) you will be taken to a page where you will be provided with information about the exam. Pay special attention to the link for International Test-takers where you will find information that may be useful to you. To continue you must click on Agree.
  5. The following page shows the centers sorted by proximity to the address you provided when you created your account. Note that the distance is calculated in miles and not kilometers. You will have to choose one of the centers that appear to continue.
  6. On this page you must first select which day, among those marked as possible, you want to take the exam. Once you have selected the day you will see the available hours. Select the time that best suits your needs and the process will take you to the next page.
  7. The next step for your registration is to make the payment.
Before proceeding, validate that all the information that appears is correct: exam, date, time and place. A possible additional purchase appears before the checkout. At that time GED offers you the possibility to purchase a practice test. If you are an EPIC student there is no need to purchase additional practice tests as you will receive plenty of material upon enrollment.
  8. Finally, you will need to enter your financial information to make the payment and complete your registration. Once the payment has been made you will receive a confirmation email.
  9. On the day of the exam remember to bring with you an official accreditation (DNI, NIE or passport) that allows you to be identified as the person registered to take the exam. The accreditation you choose must include a passport photo so that the center knows it is you.
